Clinicians Serving in the Upstate

Sheryl Lamb is a counselor with Premier Counseling in Columbia SC

Sheryl Lamb, NP

Sheryl Lamb is a native of Brooklyn New York where she developed her broad world view and love for all people. She moved to Atlanta to attend Spelman College, she fell in love with the warmer climate and southern hospitality. Upon graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1995 in only eight short months she became a charge nurse of the Emergency Department at Grady Hospital, which is one of the largest level one trauma centers in the Southeast. Sheryl has worked all the major hospitals in the Atlanta market, Emory Midtown, Piedmont Healthcare and Wellstar Regional. While working for over ten years at Piedmont Hospital she moved through the ranks to become the clinical manager of the Fuqua Heart Center during her tenure. Outside of her various clinical roles she worked as a Legal Nurse Consultant collaborating with some of the top ranking attorneys in Atlanta, at King and Spalding an international law firm and Bird Law Group in the product liability/medical malpractice division. She is most proud of her work at Bird where through diligent scientific research she discovered a critical fact that led to a two million dollar settlement for the plaintiff. After approximately seven years away from direct patient care Sheryl realized that her passion for the one on one care was her true calling. She decided to pursue her graduate degree at Georgia State University where she earned a dual Master’s of nursing degree as an Adult –Gerontology Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist in May 2014.

In her professional role Sheryl always advocates for healthcare equality. She also believes have to level the playing field for our young people too, who now have to compete in an international market. She has taught life skills and mentored in her church and the historic Butler Street YMCA. In October of 2018 was invited to become a member of the board of Providence Care an agency that provides palliative/hospice services in the South Carolina area. Sheryl presently works as a board certified Adult – Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in Rock Hill South Carolina, where she provides medical care with integrity and compassion to all patients. I am truly excited about the journey with this dynamic team at Premier Counseling.
